Helichrysum is the Latin name for a flowering plant meaning “immortal” or “everlasting.” It grows wild in the Mediterranean region of southern Europe.The name Helichrysum is derived from two Greek words: helios meaning sun, and chrysos meaning gold, referring to its numerous clusters of tiny yellow flowers. In Ancient Greece, people presented the dried flowers as an offering to the gods.Helichrysum has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. These mean it may help kill bacteria, viruses, and fungi that can cause infections.
